Duvet covers are known to be a great easy-care bedding option for the home.
Here are a few reasons why duvet covers have gained popularity:
- Duvet covers are machine-washable and can act as a protective layer against un-washable or dry-clean-only comforters.
- They’re an affordable alternative when it comes to adding warmth to you bed.
- Duvets are a great way to change the look and feel of your bedroom without spending a fortune.
But while there may be many positives when it comes to opting for a duvet cover, putting a duvet cover on after it’s been washed can be kind of a royal pain.
In fact, Crane & Canopy reported that just about 80% of people found it frustrating to put on a duvet cover.
So with that, here is how to put on a duvet cover:
To begin, lay your comforter flat on top of your mattress.
Then, take your duvet cover and turn it inside out and lay ontop of your comforter.
From here, if your duvet cover comes with corner ties, tie all interior corner ties of the duvet cover to the loops on the comforter.
After tying all the corners to the comforter, put your hands inside the duvet cover, reach down to grab hold of the comforter’s top two corners.
Here is where you’ll want to hold onto the top two corners tightly. Why?
Because this is where you’ll want to flip the duvet cover right side out over the comforter.
Be sure to give the duvet cover and comforter a big shake and fluff, do this until the comforter and duvet cover fill out completely.
And if you’re duvet cover and ties or a zipper, be sure to secure those closers.
